We have been teaching successfully on the North Shore for 29 years.

Part-time shifts are available from Monday to Sunday. We have afterschool classes from 3:15pm onwards. The parents of our swimmers value the consistency of our teachers so a minimum of 1 year’s commitment to the role is preferred. 

 

Experience is preferred, however not essential, because our extensive in house training programme is part of developing our teachers.

 

To become a certified HSS teacher the initial training process of up to 30 hours (Un-paid training) will need to be completed before you can be allocated any paid teaching shifts.

  

Person Specifications:

· Experienced with teaching swimming

· Customer focussed

· Effective interpersonal communication skills

· A commitment to excellence

· Healthy and vibrant

· Reliable and punctual

· Experience in early childhood development

· Passionate about child development

· Reliable transport and a driver's licence

· Initiative and self-management skills

· Commitment to at least one year of continuous teaching with a preferred one term notice period.
